Hi all. I was wondering if anyone has come across a strange problem with the SANE driver for the HP Scanjet 3570c. It scans but is incredibly noisy as compared to when it runs under XP. Also, the scans are garbled - like a TV signal that isn't coming in clear, sort of wavy with rainbow effects.
I just grabbed the latest SANE driver for this series of scanner but I was wondering if anyone else has come across this and maybe knows if this is simply some sort of configuration hack that can easily solve this.
Any help most appreciated as always.
Bump .... anyone?
i am having the same problem with the same scanner (hp 3570c). it's all moving very slow and i can't seem to get xsane out of gray scanmode.
any help would be greatly appreciated.
thanks.
p.s.
i tested the scanner at work using ubuntu 7.(something) and it seemed to work fine, then i got it home and tried it with version 6.06 and had the problems mentioned above.
i have installed ubuntu 7.04 on my laptop (dell latitude c600) and the scanner (3570c) seems to work fine with the new os.
is there a good reason why certain things work on one version of ubuntu and not another? i'll post another thread for that.
the other solution i came up with for using a scanner for my desktop (using 6.06) was to just buy another scanner that worked with the system. i can get a new (used) scanner for five bucks and it's hard to rationalize spending five hours trying to make something work when i can replace it for a fraction of the price of an hour at minimum wage. |
