Wifi doesn't show up under dmesg anymore

Using this tutorial I compiled a new 2.6.21.3 kernel last week...

Wifi did not work with this kernel, the wifi LED doesn't blink and nothing would show up under dmesg. I booted back up in to 2.6..20.15 and wifi worked just fine. After about a week of bouncing between the two, wifi now doesn't work with either kernel, nothing coming out of dmesg either. If I boot up into Windows wifi works just fine.

I have a ThinkPad T41 with a IBM 11a/b/g wifi card, it's got the Atheros AR5001X+ chipset.

Should note that the Fn+F5 doesn't turn the LED back on.
