7.04 fails to boot after install
I just got my new PC and I am trying to install 7.04 as the only system to it. Booting from CD everything works just fine but when booting the system for the first time after installation it freezes to the quot;loader barquot; and after a while it goes to the build in shell.
I have also tried the 64bit installation and it does not see the HD at all. Same goes for the 6.06 LTS.
My PC:
ASROCK AM2 NF520 DDR2 SATA2 GLAN 8-CH HD
AMD ATHLON 64 X2 5600+ AM2 (89W) BOX
1GB DDRII 800 MHZ (2pcs)
SEAGATE BARRACUDA 7200.10 320GB SATA_ (ST3320620AS)
ASUSTEK GF 7600 GS PCI-E 256MB SILENT
NEXUS BREEZE CASE 500W SILENT
LG DVD+-RW DL 18 X BULK BLACK
Please, someone save my soul from buying M$ Vista...
Try booting into recovery mode. See if that works.
Nope - does not work. There is some error note about sata and HD
Go into BIOS and optimize your hard drive settings. I needed to do this for 6.06 and it was fine after that.
D
Actually I have checked bios settings and it should be Ok...
Actually BIOS was the solution to this one. I changed the operation mode for SATA from quot;non-raidquot; to quot;AHCIquot; and it started to work. |
