Strange MTRR error on boot up
I get the following strange error on booting on an Athlon 64 X2 proc running 32 bit ubuntu (64 bit install CD doesn't detect hard drives which is another story) but the system has run ok since I installed it a few hours ago :
[ 21.748248] MTRR: CPU 1: Writing MSR 250 to 1e1e1e1e:1e1e1e1e failed
[ 21.748470] MTRR: CPU 1: Writing MSR 258 to 1e1e1e1e:1e1e1e1e failed

Is the CPU defective or is this ok? I have never encountered anything quite like this in 12 yrs of using linux! A google search doesn't seem to bring up anything. TIA for your help.
I also saw this on my new machine. Have you learned anything about this? I am running 7.0.4 64 bit |
