Switching SO drive from = sda to hda=

hi guys,i was registered here before but i lost my login.

anyways

i have ubuntu 6.06 installed in a sata hard drive, linux atributes SDA to him.

I need to free that sata port, so i will need to transfer (or clone) it to a IDE (PATA) disc.

The cloning is no problem.  Better yet, this posed no trouble if the SO was windows, because it goes by letters (a boot partition named C: and that was it).Do i have to change anything in linux before that?  linux recognizes the boot partition by sda, and now it will become hda.  Will it cause trouble ? will it boot?thanks in advance!!!!

probably easy, right?  maybe open fstab and switch all sda references to hda?

thanks in advance
