HP 7610s Xserver Xorg problems

Hello, All,

I have installed 7.04 from alternate CD to my new HP 7610s notebook, and X is broken.

Things I tried without success:
- install latest drivers from Intel for X3100
- updated system
- reconfigure xserver
- reading suggestions posted in wiki.ubuntu.com about HP7610b by LaptopTestingTeam

I attach my config files.

Could a kind soul tell me what's wrong ?!

for the benefit of other users, I would like to state that the X problem was fixed with a kernel update.
