Epson D78

Hi!

I have Epson D78 printer, and although printer installed fine, the printout is not great. My D78 uses Gutenprint driver for D68 model, and i think that could be the problem as maybe those two are not completely compatible.
Problem is that on every resolution/quality settings, printout has white horizontal lines. If resolution is higher, it is less noticeable, but still present. That's only for color printing, black ink seems to print just fine.

On openprinting.org it says that D78 works perfectly on linux with gutenprint D68 driver. Is there some other driver I can use, or some settings i can try? Anything?
Does anybody else have this problem?

What.. nobody uses this printer with ?

I use the same printer with the same driver and the output is great.  Have you tried it under Windows to see if is the same? I do know though that something was changed on the printers manufactured after 1st April 2007 as they use slightly different print cartridges.

I just got this printer up and running and it works like a gem for me, using the gutenprint D68 driver. Try installing mtink; it allows you to access various functions of your printer such as checking ink levels, and cleaning the nozzles.

Great tip! mtink works with my Epson C84 also.
