@ Keyboard Key not working

Hey I put Xubuntu on a computer and the @ key types quot;
And the # key types /

Why is it doing that?  How do you fix it?
I tried switching keyboards and it didn't help.

You need to switch your language to UK.

You can do it true a GUI. Its in settingsgt;administration (not sure dont have GNOME installed)

You could also try to change keyboard layout using a commandCode:
sudo xmodmap /usr/share/xmodmap/xmodmap.uk
Terminal is in Applicationgt;system I think.

I think I selected English Canada as the language.  Why would that not be correct for a standard keyboard?

english us seems to work most of the time

What's the difference between US and UK? .. with keyboards I mean..

And would there be any difference if I switch to  from Xubuntu or are they the same drivers?

mainly the symbols...  but not all that much

also,you could have a look to see if the key board that it has selected matches the one you have....
