Gstreamer Codec compatibility error on Acer Aspier 5573

Hi

I have installed  Fiesty Fawn (7.04) on Acer Aspire 5573 (1.7GHz, 512MB RAM) laptop.

After installation, I go to Applications gt; Add / Remove gt; select Gstreamer Extra Plugins (to enable MP3 support in my laptop). I get the following message in the pane below the list of add/remove program list:

GStreamer extra plugins cannot be installed on your computer type (i386). Either the application requires special hardware features or the vendor decided to not support your computer type.

Please let me know how can I enable my sound card and play MP3 files in .

Note that  notified after installation that restricted drivers (HAL) are in use to enable support for some devices. Also, in list of hardware under System menu, sound card (high definition sound card) appears.
