USB Sound Card

So I have an ancient computer (9yo, Dell P2) and the integrated sound card isn't supported (big surprise, lol).

I was wondering:
A) if a USB sound card would solve my problem.
B) if anybody's had any luck with them on .
C) if anybody has any recommendations for something on the cheaper side.

I just found out they existed, lol. It sounds promising.
