white desktop background

Hi,
I am a newbie here and this is my first time running os under Linux.
I have problem here. I don't know why this happen.I installed feisty amd64.My laptop use ati xpress 1150.
I have beryl installed and running.However, I need to run this code in order to run beryl and avoid white screen
LD_PRELOAD=/usr/lib/fglrx/libGL.so.1.2.xlibmesa beryl --replace amp;

After a while my desktop background change to white.  When I type the above command again, then I get my desktop background again.
Sorry if this is double post.
even i get the same ...will keep track
