getting espeak to tell you what is doing

I was playing around the espeak and festival last night to satisfy my interest.
is it possible to make espeak talk when an error happens or even when launching an application for example when starting firefox the pc may say quot;starting firefoxquot;

this along with the magnify option would be an awesome tool for visually impaired users
