Clear Type alternative install

Is there something similar to Microsoft's Clear Type Tuner?
I would like something so the text shows more clear in the LCD displays?

A couple things to try:

1) Go to System/Preferences/Font. Make sure that subpixel smoothing is selected.

2) then enter this

sudo apt-get install msttcorefonts

I use this method to improve my subpixel font rendering:

A lot of people complain that it makes fonts blurry, but I see them as smoother and easier to read.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is if you like your setup, don't change.  But if it's not quite right give this method a try.
